She Who Must Stamp

 I made a whimsical decoration for my stamp room with an image that was sent to me recently. (Thank you Ann Marie from Crafty Critters!)  As soon as I saw these images, I knew they were going to become a part of my stamp room decor.  (LOL!  I say that like my stamp room is something special!  It's not, thus no pictures... ever, but it's a space of my very own!)

Sweet On You

Two versions of the same card.  One Close To Cocoa card base is left as is, the other uses the  Soft Swirls background stamp stamped in Close To Cocoa ink.  The color palette from the Loves Me DSP is a yummy color combo, and I'm sadly down to my last snippets of scraps.  Images from the stamp set Sweet On You were stamped with Pretty In Pink and Taken With Teal inks.  Other minor differences are self-explanatory.

Bird On A Branch

This card  uses up the last bits of this DSP!  Sorry, can't remember the name of it anymore, but it went well with the stamp set Tart and Tangy.  I do believe this is the very first time I used up an entire package of DSP!

S'More Snowmen

 Remember my "Snowmen On Parade" posts awhile ago?  Well one little guy got left behind from all the fun, but he is too cute to ignore, so here he is bringing up the rear.

The photographer had a little trouble with reflections on the blue metal dots and the photo editor (one and the same) had trouble making corrections in color, but we'll forgive her, right?  Here are the specific deets, so you know what you are really looking at!

Old Is New again

Let's brighten things up!

This card is for a swap where we are to use a tool ( I call them toys) that hasn't been used in 6 months.  Well that would be my Big Bite and some very old SU heart shaped eyelets!  I am spoiled by using brads, but I do have a large assortment of eyelets at my disposal, that I tend to forget about!

Delicate Dots DSP#4

This is the first sketch card I made with the Delicate Dots DSP, but as you can see it is the last in line for posting.  What can I say?  I like to mix things up and confuse myself whenever possible!

Be gentle, this is one of my first attempts at using Copic markers exclusively on an image.  I only have a handful of colors from which to choose.

The image was sent to me in a swap and I had to use it now because the weather people have been pulling our strings lately with threats of winter storms and advisories.  So far all the storm hype has not panned out in our little corner of the state.  Do I sound disappointed?  Yes, I was hoping for early outs, late starts, and maybe even a whole day off of school this last week!  You know, bonus stamping time!?!

 This card uses the same sketch as yesterday's card, along with the same DSP; Delicate Dots.  Actually the title of this post is wrong.  This is card #3 in the Delicate Dots line up and yesterday's card was #4 in the order in which the cards were made, but I am posting them backwards, just because!

Ton of Paper Left

The papers for this card is where it all began. But let me give you some background info first.  I'm in a swap where we are to use papers that we have a ton of unused.  That would be Delicate Dots DSP for me.  I had six unopened packages until I broke into one of them last night.  It's not that I was deliberately hoarding, more like I didn't know what to do with the patterns in the pack. So when the swap called for using paper that we had a lot of, I finally broke into one of these SAB freebies from last year.

Then I told myself that any cards that I made last night would have to utilize this particular DSP. So for the next few days you will see some sketch cards featuring Delicate Dots DSP. I hope you get inspired to make as many cards as you can using one of your unopened packages of paper!

A Current Project

 Cleaning, organizing, and reorganizing is an ongoing work in progress in my stamp room.  This last time I rediscovered some take-out boxes that I ordered "who knows when" from the Current company.  Since they were Valentine themed, I decided to put a couple of them together and embellish with some stamped images.  They are big enough to hold a goodly amount of treats for someone special!

Altered File Folder

 Altering file folders to hold junior size legal pads has been on my to do list for quite some time, so this last weekend I actually made my first one!

Sorry I don't have a specific link to share, but I searched on SCS for altered file folders and found the directions there.

I took some scraps of the folder that were trimmed off and covered the top of the notepad to match the pattern on the folder.  I hope to purchase some RSVP pens soon and make a matching pen to keep inside the folder.

This one is for me, as it is my first attempt and needs some tweaking, but I plan to make some more for quick gifts or as stocking stuffers for next Christmas.  One idea I have in mind is to make one for someone I know who loves to play card games and it can be used to keep scores.  I have some odd game pieces that I can use to embellish the folder. 

See the large felt flower on the front? - well who can miss that!  I received a pkg of these in a swap and although I loved them, I never quite knew what to do with them, until now!  It's a perfect match for the front of this folder!

Valentine Gift Tins

One of my personal goals this year is to make more projects as I come across fun ideas. (As opposed to just saying "I'll make that some day")   So when I was reading on SCS recently about stampers decorating the skinny silver tins from SU, I decided right then to do some up for Valentine's Day this year!  (of course it helped to have a stash of tins on hand that I had been hoarding, which is a totally different resolution, see this post here!)

The tin on the left is the "girl" version and the one on the right is the "boy" version.  On the inside of the lids are small envelopes made using the same DSP as the fronts to hold cash or a gift card.  I'm hoping to find some sweet treats (as in chocolate) that will fit into the bottom section.

Planning Ahead

Woohoo!  Would you believe that I have five Christmas gifts made for next year already?  (well six if you count the one I made for myself hoping my Santa will fill it for me!)  I made Gift Card of the Month books for my family out of CD folders, cardstock, DSP, and mini envelopes.

The photos above feature the one I made for my daughter.  On hers I used Loves Me DSP and also Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal and Regal Rose cs. and brown polka dot grosgrain ribbon to hold it closed.  On the front a Taken With Teal Nestabilities Pendant die is embellished with adhesive backed pearls.

For the males in the family I used Urban Oasis and Walk in the Park DSP.  Theirs are held closed with  belly bands, decorated with their initials cut out using Sizzix dies.  (Mine was made using Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and is held closed with Crushed Curry polka dot grosgrain)

Now I need to remember to do two things: periodically pick up gift cards for the pockets, so I'm not socked with the expense all at once and more importantly is to remember where I am storing these until December!  Wish me luck!

Mini Pizza Box

My first ever mini pizza box and it was so much fun to make!

This one is made with Kraft cs..

I used four shades of cs varying in color from a from light pink to a deep burgundy and cut out hearts with a Sizzix die.

Each heart was decorated with rub ons and some bling, no stamping on this project.

Polka Dot organdy ribbon in burgundy  was tied in a bow, with a small safety pin holding a white pearl heart charm added to the knot.

The box is empty for now, until I can decide what kind of sweet surprise to place inside.

Surprise Item

 I'm in a swap where the hostess sent each of us the same item to incorporate into our cards.  Not that I did anything unusual or creative with it, but I used the plastic bag closure to act as a tag for my simple card.  Here are the deets:
