Give Thanks

 The Square Lattice layer on this Confetti Cream card looks almost black, but it is actually dark brown: SU's Early Espresso to be exact.

The border stamp is from a very old (vintage) SU set called Itty Bitty Borders.

The sentiment is from Imaginations, which I altered slightly.  The small leaf after Give was originally a small heart, so I added a "stem" to make it look like the leaves in the border.

I love the look of the wide striped ribbon.  I gathered it with twine threaded through a corduroy button.

A Little Bit of Happiness

 I experienced a lot of happiness making this card!  Sometimes just doing putzy work can be so relaxing.  Such was the case with this card.

I stamped the main image in four colors and then cut three of the colors apart and put them together again mixing up the colors onto the stamped Sage Shadow base.  I ended up with three lovely cards!

My card design is based on one I found in the SCS gallery when I did a search for rub ons several weekends ago.  I love the folded fabric flower on the rub on stem!  And the addition of pearls has my heart singing as well!

In some packages of DSP, I find there is usually one pattern of paper that just stumps me on how and when to use.  It's usually the pieces with the  bolder, larger patterns.  The background piece for this card is one example.  It's one of the few full size sheets I have left from this package.

So I plunged ahead and used similar colors on the image and mimicked the scallops of the printed medallions by punching out the owl with the scallop circle punch.

I just may have pulled it off this time!  But I still have plenty of this design left to use!  Sheesh!

Sept. 2010, page 59 of cards is the inspiration for my entry today.

My card opens up on the right side (fold on the left side!) and the embossed layer was adhered on the reverse side, as in indented polka dots rather than raised.  Just changing it up a little bit to keep things interesting!  The leaf images were spritzed with Log Cabin Smooch.  I'm loving this stuff!

I'm going to be giving this card to my future SIL for his birthday at the end of the month.  Hope he likes it!

Autumn Icon

 The leaf from SU's Seasonal Icons was used for this card.  I love the look of the bold image stamped in : Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, and Kiwi Kiss onto copper metal edge tags.

The three patterns from Frosty Days DSP is where my color combo came from.  Thank goodness we haven't had frosty days here yet, but we have had some frosty mornings!

The sentiment is not from SU; rather it says Endless Creations on the wood block , but it is one of my favorite fall sentiments.  Two punches were used to frame the sentiment and copper brads to match the tags were added as well.

Autumn Wishes

 Last weekend I had a ton of fun making fall cards.  This one is one of my favorites!  And it all began with the chipboard acorn I had in my fall embellishment drawer!  (I can so relate to squirrels who tuck nuts away for winter!)

I found the perfect image to go with the embellishment in the SU set Just Because.  The sentiment is from Endless Creations.  SU's Autumn Meadow DSP and felt ribbon ribbon give a warm and comforting look to the card. 

I used Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to distress the image, and then after layering, popped it up with dimensionals.

Looking at this card makes me want hot apple cider with a cinnamon stick!

Gently Falling

 Last weekend I pulled all of my fall-ish type stamp sets off the shelves and spread them out around me.  I gathered some card sketches and embellishments and got down to some major card-making fun!

This card is one of many that came together quickly for me.  (You'll be seeing the other cards throughout this month.)  I enjoyed putting this unusual color combo together (much better IRL!) and using up the last of my favorite fall leaf brads.

I'm Nuts About You!

And I'm nuts about stamping! (Most of you knew that already!)

My dear sweet cat Claire woke me up at 1:30AM on Saturday morning and at 2:00AM Sunday morning!  Yikes! So after getting her and Snickers (my not so dear and sweet cat) settled in with  wee morning snacks both mornings, I went down to the Stamp Cave and made cards, cards, and more cards!  I was on a roll these last two mornings!  I have enough cards made and pre-posted for the entire month of October (minus the weekends)!

Onto the details about this card.  I saw this layout while clicking from one blog to another, so don't remember whose idea it was.  Their card was a coffee theme, if I remember correctly.  But I loved the layout at first sight and this is what I came up with.

See the striped ribbon at the bottom of the card?  It had been in my ribbon odds and ends basket for a very long time and I finally found a card for it!  The ribbon was just barely long enough for this card! It is taped to the backside of the Crumb Cake layer right at the very ends!  Whew! I tied some linen thread over it to help keep it held down!

Harvest Friendships

This is the third image that was colored at one sitting last weekend.  I love the sketch used here that I had saved to a folder on my computer.

The image is from D.O.T.S., another golden oldie!  There is a red "stain" near the word friendships, that I tried to blend away.  When I pulled off the cap to one of the red Copics, a little blob of ink dropped onto the stamped image.  Does that ever happen to you?  I've had it happen before and it is very annoying, as it usually falls onto a spot that can't be covered up and often happens when the coloring is almost completed!

Milk Can

This last weekend I stamped up three images and sat and colored them with my Copics.  Then I went into my sketch folder on my computer (do you save sketches too?) and found sketches that would work best for each of the three images.

This is the first of the three cards.  You almost didn't get to see it, as I have been having nothing but trouble uploading pictures to my blog through Blogger!  I had to switch back to Internet Explorer from Firefox in order for the uploading process to work - sheesh!

Enough whining!  Back to the card at hand!

Party Time Tuesdays Challenge #15

 Hooray!  The challenges at Party Time Tuesdays
are back!  This week the birthday card challenge is "Anything Goes"!

My card is 3.25 x 6.50 in size, made in my rub on phase from a few weeks back!  The base is ivory card stock with a Chocolate Chip layer.  Next up is some SU DSP: Apple Cider.  The white layer is a rub on, which is also layered onto River Rock card stock.  The sentiment is a rub on as well, put on a third pattern of Apple Cider DSP.

I used dimensionals under the image layers to pop it up a bit and the Chocolate Chip layer was punched with a scallop border punch.

I definitely had fall in mind when making this card!

gimme

This fun little candy corn themed card is an easel card!  I found the directions for this fun size here .  It will fit into the small open-end envelopes from SU!

I'll be making more of these skinny easel cards because they are fun to do and I have a lot of Halloween DSP at my fingertips! And I imagine in the future you'll be seeing some other holiday versions as well!

Isn't the saying a catchy little rhyme? And did you notice the stamped candy corns at the bottom of the card?  After adding color, I covered them in Crystal Effects to give them some shine and dimension.  The little candy corn button was in my basket of miscellaneous odds and ends.  A fun treasure trove to dig through every once in a while!

I Love Being Witchy!

I paired two different stamp companies for this card.  The broom and sentiment are from Imaginations and the witch is from Lockhart Stamp Co.

The witch was colored in using Copics and Spica glitter pens, although it is impossible to see the subtle sparkle in the photo.

The sentiment is stamped on card stock cut with one of my newest toys: Nestibilities Eyelet Squares!  Green rhinestones were added to the four corners to get some sparkle on the lower part of the card.

If the broom fits, fly it!

Punch it ...Broomzelda!  Don't  you just love that witchy name?  LOL!
I've had this Uptown Stamps image for a very long time and she was ready to see some ink!

 My intention was to color her with Copics, but I didn't have the right colors to match the SU Creepy Crawly DSP, so I used my SU markers instead.

A glittered, puffy bat sticker adds some sparkle to the upper corner.
