A "Stamps R Us" Challenge!

I made a larger sized card this time for the challenge at Stamps R Us, a full 5x7!   I used lots of layering on this one, keeping my colors to white/black/and silver.  Photo corners, brads, and silver metallic paper are the main embellishments for this masculine card.

Sweet Treats

This is my final card as Guest Designer for "There's Magic in the Air" this month.  What an honor it was to be a part of all the October fun!  I will continue, however, to enjoy their weekly challenges and look forward to the inspiration coming up next month and beyond!

This little trick or treater (Frightfully Cute) from Paper Cupcakes is celebrating today (Halloween!) with his favorite holiday candy - candy corn! (mix candy corn with dry roasted peanuts and it tastes like a salted nut roll!  Oops, I digress!)  The image was colored with Copics.  I made a little brown bat as I don't have a black Copic (it's on my to do list!)  I used a colorless blender on his tummy to lighten the area.  Two balloons were colored so one could be popped up onto the other with dimensionals!

The T or T bag is a MS punch and the border candies are from a D.O.T.S. stamp.

Halloween Bingo

This is one of my last Halloween cards for this year... promise!   This card is for the Bingo Challenge at Gingerloft, although yours doesn't have to be a Halloween card, it's just that I had mine made ages ago, while still in the spooky card mode!  I should probably redo mine for a more timely card.  (Adding that to my To Do List!)

Here are some more cards I made for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges over at SCS.  There is a different challenge every day during the month of October.  I have the majority of them completed, but am not sure I will be able to get to them all.  But it sure has been rewarding trying!

Hambo Newscaster

For playing along last week, I received this Newscaster image to use for the challenge this week at Hambo Hoedown!   We are to incorporate some newsprint in our creations this week.  I used a portion of our local newspaper, as it fit right in with where I wanted to go with my idea!  And I have a masculine birthday card to add to my stash!

White Space Challenge(d)

 I am "white space" challenged.  So when I tried to do the white space challenge at 365 Cards, I just couldn't do it!  I need to have some color on my cards, apparently lots of color, as I used a very busy pattern of background paper.  Now I was successful at only adding elements where they show up in the sketch, but I just couldn't have all that white!  But I'm going to enter my card into their challenge anyway!

(As you can see I have heavy hand when it comes Smooch Spritz too!  Sheesh!)

Giddy, Snowmen

I made these two cards for the 365 Card challenges.

This first one is for Day 237: Super Sketch Sunday.  I used a stamp set from Woodware USA Clear Stamps called I Love Snowmen.

What a fun set to play with!  I colored these cuties with Copics using colors from the DSP as my color palette.

 This next card is for Day 239, which is to make cards for celebrating the everyday.  This whimsical card is made with some pink and dark brown patterned papers in my stash that had coordinating stickers and chipboard shapes.

I put the "giddy" sticker on a metal rim tag and tied the string onto the bow.

PTT #39 Anything Goes!

 It's an "Anything Goes" challenge at Party Time Tuesdays this week! Our sponsors are Kenny K and Paper Shelter.  See what the DT has come up with this week using images from both of these companies!

The image I used is from Paper Shelter and is called The little Sorcerer's Apprentice.  I wanted to give the illusion of magic so I accented the wizard's hat with metallic pens.  If you take a closer look I added small bits of "spark" coming off the hat from the gold circles and silver stars.  I layered the image with holographic glitter paper and another wavy metallic patterned paper.

Gold brads and silver star brads embellish the corners of the layering papers.

Pink and Black Painted Cat

It's a color challenge at "There's Magic in the Air"!  The challenge of course is to use the colors pink and black!  For my card I chose the Paper Cupcakes digi "Painted Cat" and painted only the pink areas using Smooch.

For the card layout I used a Sweet Sunday Sketch, this one is number 138.  The sketch fit well into my plans to use a variety of patterned papers in the background to keep the quilted look going from the image.  I even had some pink and black checked ribbon in my stash!

Friday's digital stamp challenge at Designed 2 Delight features the digi "Lovely Tree".  I received this terrific image free for playing along in the challenge last week, but if you need it you can buy it here!

This image was colored in with Copics and for the leaves I used the blender pen to remove some of the ink to give the leaves some veins.  The grass is from a Sizzix die and punched some small hearts out of fall colors to look like fallen leaves tucked into the layers of grass.  I placed a strip of grass on the cloud patterned paper, then added the cut out tree with the top portion popped up with dimensionals.  A second strip of grass was then added in front of the tree.

I bought the additional images for this digi set and made use of the owl and sentiment to complete this card. The owl is actually in 3D, as I colored two images and then cut out the head and wings to place on top of the first image with dimensionals.  I gave her a flower to wear in her hair in the way of a brad!  She has some lovely wiggly eyes too!

It's a Little Sketchy

It's a sketch challenge at Hambo Hoedown this time around.  I received  "Zombie Bunny" free for playing along last week, but if you need/want it you can find it here!

I don't usually take the time to decorate the insides of my cards, but this time I did!  Mainly because I used black for the card base and needed to add a lighter panel inside anyway!  Ha!

My bunny was colored in with Copics and I added some Crystal Effects to the eyes and a glitter pen to the J-O-L's face.  The die cut image is popped up with dimensionals onto some paper purchased in the dollar section of Target several years ago.

The inside of the card features the same patterned papers and a Top Note die cut to write or stamp an additional message.  The corner features a glittered pumpkin sticker, also a Target purchase from years past.  Way to use my stash huh!?!

Hope You Can Cling To: SCS Card Drive

 

Splitcoaststampers is proud to partner with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center for our second annual month long card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer.


I've been partaking in some of the challenges at SCS for this card drive.  I got a late start on the challenges so am trying to catch up, although realistically I know I won't be able to get all of them completed.
