4 You Friend

Just like yesterday's card (and so many others!), this card was CASEd!  The inspiration for this card came from the Winter '11 issue of Just Cards magazine, page 17 or maybe 77 (can't read my own writing!).  Anyhow...

I loved the layout used and the stamps (SU's True Friend), so kept those the same.  My DSP is different (SU's Petals and Paisleys, one of the very last bit o' scraps) and my color combo is slightly different too!  I also added the three tiny tags to the ribbon with a safety pin - love those tiny tags!

I sponged Crumb Cake all over the DSP to "age" it and also sponged the edges of some layers with Purely Pomegranate ink for more definition.

hi

I love CAS cards and I also love cards with a touch of whimsy.  This card is both!  I was paging through a past issue of cards, April '09, and came across the inspiration for today's card on page 161.

Furnished With Love

I have two sketch cards to show you today.  Both of them are based on sketches from iheartart.  I didn't find the time to do last week's sketch (or the week before that one - yikes!) before a new one was posted for this week!  So I made them both in one sitting. Actually i was making quite a few cards, and didn't realize that I used the same stamp set for both cards!  And it also looks like my color combo was similar too!

**edited to add: I'm going to enter these cards in the Use it Tuesday challenge, which is to use red on your cards.  These cards also qualify, as I have owned this stamp set for quite a long while and just trimmed the rubber and mounted these two stamps to be used on these cards! you know, that whole uninked stamps thing I admitted to recently!

Stamps:  SU Furnished With Love
Paper:  SU Naturals Ivory, black, Baja Breeze

My Sentiments Exactly

The background stamp for this card is from My Sentiments Exactly, which I have had for a very long time, a very long time! (We're talking years, friends!)  And yet, it never saw ink until this weekend!  Oh the stamps I could show you in my stamp room that haven't seen ink yet!  It's almost criminal!

I paired the background stamp with SU's Upsy Daisy stamp and love how it turned out!  Some layered ribbon grounds the flower patch and layered circles show off the circular friendship sentiment.  This card is a plea for Spring to come to MN and stay for awhile!

The two cards I am showing off today both use the SU DSP called Petals & Paisleys, long retired, of course!  This is no surprise to those of you who know my hoarding tendencies!  But the good news is that I am now down to my last bits of scraps of this paper!  Oh, and look!  I actually used a new flower button from a recent SAB freebie!  Yeah me!

Three Shades of Green

I made this card for a color challenge and needed to use three shades of green.  Check it out:  Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, and Sage Shadow!  The DSP from SU had all three colors in this patterned piece.  A perfect card to post on St. Patrick's Day!

The little swirly piece is cut from a Shapeabilities die.  And Stickles were added to the shamrocks for some sparkle.  (I didn't even wait for the glitter glue to dry before taking the photo!)

CP Sketch 106

Card Patterns is a weekly sketch blog that came to my attention recently and I finally had time to play along.  I reversed the sketch (on purpose!) because it fit better with my image.

This was a fun sketch to work with and I hope to play along with the challenges more often.  I'm not sure why I went with Autumn colors for this card, other than I am tired of cold, wind, and snow and chose colors that I like, which is the fall-ish colors.

I should mention that the image was stamped twice.  Once in Chocolate Chip ink and then again in Apricot Appeal, just a little off from the first image to make a slight shadow.  I love that look with silhouette stamps, but not sure if you can see the AA shadow in the photo.

CP Sketch 106:
Stamps:  Upsy Daisy, So Many Sayings
Paper:  Apricot Appeal, Chocolate Chip, DSP: Autumn Spice
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Apricot Appeal
Misc:  buttons, Baker's Twine, Nestibilities, punches, dimensionals

Christmas Gold

I'm working on my weekend Christmas card challenges and this one is for: CHNC Challenge 11: Go For Gold!

My card turned out nothing like I had originally planned!  But I love how it eventually turned out nevertheless.  I went to bed last night thinking about how I would be making this card today.   I must have dreamed about supplies I don't even own, because I had to make this card totally different!  LOL!

Stamps:  Embossing Arts Co.
Paper:  Gina K PL ivory, Always Artichoke, gold glossy, SU DSP: Holiday Harmony
Ink:  Always Artichoke
Misc:  metal dot, bow, gold pearls, MS punch

"Cool" Yule

I am positively giddy with excitement over this week's jingle belles challenge and here's why:

Leslie from The Crooked Stamper is this week's guest hostess!  She is one delightful and talented stamper that can also tickle your funny bone!

Leslie chose a nontraditional color combo for the challenge: Kraft, White, and Pale Blue, and made an awesome card!  Check it out here:  and here:

After a lot of thought, here is what I came up with.  I sure hope I did Leslie proud!

Stamps:  great impressions, A Muse
Paper:  Kraft, Bashful Blue, DSP: Holiday Lounge, PTI white

Another Sketch: TG010

Another fun sketch from Tiffany at iheartart!
Just want you to know that I do have rounded corners on both panels, but when I added the sentiment - (oops!) - the rounded corner got covered up!

I had fun searching through my stash of DSP to find some prints to coordinate with these awesome seahorse stickers!

Here are some additional details:
Stamps:  Love You Much
Paper:  PTI white, SU:  Chocolate Chip, DSP: Afternoon Tea, Prints
Misc:  K&Company stickers

Sketch #35

I always look forward to playing along over at Friday Mashup!   The sketch above is their challenge for this week.

My colors were chosen by using the SU Color Coach, which I tend to forget about.  I also used some other toys to make this card:  Nestibilities, a Martha Stewart border punch, and a Sizzix embossing folder.  What fun it is to play!

Sketch #35:
