Dream Big

A game of Tic Tac Toe and a cupcake were the inspiration for this card.  Check out the challenges at The Paper Players and Cupcake Inspirations to get your inspiration on!
The image and sentiment are from Gina K. "Petals & Wings".  Part of the image was colored with Copics and parts were paper pieced.  The oval shadow is from Impress and was stamped with Bashful Blue ink.  The patterned papers are from Nikki Sivils "Bluberry Hill" collection.

I hadn't planned on doing the sentiment like that, but I dropped the stamp on the card as I was going to stamp it!  Everything else was already in place, so what to do, but cover it up!  I hate when that happens!  Guess my big dream will be not to do that ever again!

This is what happens when you take the paper piecing challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges and pair it with the sketch from retro sketches!  I had both of these challenges running through my head as I was starting to return  ahuge pile of stamp sets back to their shelves.  I stopped cleaning up when I grabbed onto this set from SU called: Unfrogettable and started working on stamping, cutting, gluing and smiling at the finished result!  I used patterned papers from SU: "Designer Prints" and "Welcome Neighbor".  Wiggle eyes give the three frogs more personality.  I used an XL Sizzlet grass die with Garden Green card stock for the tall weeds/grasses.

Whimsical CASE

I belong to a blogging group on Splitcoaststampers (SCS) called "Stamp Addicts".   Every two weeks we choose a member to CASE and this time it was Darlene's turn.  I chose this whimsical card of hers to CASE.

My step card has a different configuration than Darlene's cute card.  I started with a Crumb Cake base and used some patterned papers to help create an outdoor scene.  The papers are from Nikki Sivils' "Willow Bee" and "My Friend Birdie" collections.  The images are from the SU set called "Love Bandit" and were colored in with Copics and SU markers.

Stop by Darlene's blog and look around at her wonderful creations and be sure to leave her some love!

May I Have This Dance?

This is one of the new images at McMahon Five Designs this week.  You can find it by looking here.

I took this classy image and cut it out with a Spellbinders Labels Ten die.  Then I used a die the next size up and cut some black glitter paper.  With the next larger size die, I cut folded Basic Gray card stock to make my shaped card.  Red organza ribbon was tied at a diagonal behind the main image.

Here are the new M5D releases and sample cards with links for this week:

Master Butterfly

I made this card for Splitcoast's sketch challenge SC382 yesterday.

All papers and stamps are from Gina K.

There are several subtle details you may not be able to see in the photo:
I used a black glitter pen to accent the spots and lines on the butterfly's wings.
The ivory card base has the same butterfly image stamped all over in VersaMark.
I used the SU background stamp, Sanded, and stamped it on the patterned paper with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink.

To B or Not to B

It's all about the Letter B this week at Shopping Our Stash!  On your cards this week use anything with a B - brads, boys, bugs, blue, banana, bicycle, bear, basket, etc.  And it's so fitting that our sponsor this week is...Bugaboo!

Lot's of stash on my card this week!  First off this image from Bugaboo featuring a cute little boy catching bugs is colored with Copics and cut out using a Spellbinders Labels die.  The paper is from some blog candy I recently won (go me!).  And in the spirit of the Letter B, I added lots of brads: butterflies, bees, and ladybugs.  The sky was sponged in using a cloud template with Bashful Blue ink.

Yes, I think you get the idea!   Please dig deep into your stash and join us in this fun challenge!

You're a Hoot!

Today is an exciting day for me!  This is my first post as an official member of the Design Team for {PIN}spirational Challenges!  Check us out and join in on the fun!  I just love the inspirational photos Deanne comes up with each week and have so much fun making cards for her challenges!

For this card I used the SU set called "Circle Circus" and the following ink and card stock colors:  Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, and Melon Mambo.  The sentiment is from a CHF set called: U R A Hoot.  Wiggle eyes, ribbon, pompom trim and dimensionals add to the fun and whimsy of the card!  Guess I better not forget to mention the two SU punches I used:  Owl Builder and Key Tag.   The white portion of the card was embossed with the Spots and Dots folder from Cuttlebug

I'm looking forward to seeing your creation, so be sure to link it up at our challenge blog!

Hang In There

Well it's the last Tuesday of the month and for Party Time Tuesdays that means it's an Anything Goes Challenge!  There is a lot going on this week, so head over to the PTT blog and check out all the announcements, news, and inspiration!

The sponsors for this week include:

Crafty Secrets
The Kraft Outlet

My card uses an image and sentiment from Bugaboo.  The cream and kraft colored papers are from The Kraft Outlet, as is the colorful twine.  The image was colored with Copics and then cut with Spellbinders dies.  The layered kraft papers were embossed with a folder from The Paper Place.  Punches were used to cut out and layer the sentiment.

To share some personal news, this is my last post as a PTT DT member.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time on this team with the talented ladies and exciting challenges.   I have some new adventures in sight and know that the new and returning DT members will continue to amaze and delight you with their weekly creations.

Sweet Pea

I've begun unmounting my SU stamp sets a little at a time and the result is that I am discovering stamps I had forgotten about!  This pea pod from "Event Full" is one of those stamps.  So when I saw the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations, this stamp came to mind.

The card base is white and then there is a trio of patterned papers from SU.  The ATC sized image panel is made up of white card stock embossed with a Polka Dots folder, and then layers of Wild Wasabi and Garden Green.  I used a Garden Branch die to cut the greenery and added the image to the plant.   Buttons for the peas on the image, which was colored with Copics.  The sentiment was stamped separately and punched it out with the Word Window punch and layered it onto the Modern Label punched piece.

Tag Curler

Is there anyone out there who owns the Tag Curler from Making Memories besides me?   I am such a sucker for so easily enabled when it comes to gadgets and doodads for stamping.  I purchased this many years ago and can probably count on one hand the number of times I've used it!  Do you even see the little tags to buy anymore?  Wait...don't tell me!  So why did I pull this tool out today?

Well this is a special birthday card.  My DH turns 60 today!  Yikes, I know!  And if you like numbers, we just celebrated our 33rd Anniversary last week!  And exactly a month ago, I celebrated my....birthday!  Ahem!

So anyway, I dusted off the Tag Curler and some fun tags and curled them around some Baker's Twine.   This card uses Sketch #8 from retro sketches.  The patterned paper is from the SU collection "Love Letter" and is layered onto riding hood red and black card stock.  The outside sentiment is from PSX, the inside has a personal message from me!  I'm excited to give the card to him!

Over at Stamp TV  the Free For All Friday Challenge is to CASE a card from Design Team Member Melanie Muenchinger and to make at least two changes to the card.  I chose her card titled Textures and Silhouettes to CASE, but it wasn't easy to choose!    What caught my eye on this card of hers was it's CAS beauty.  I made several changes for my card: stamps, colors, and added ribbon and brads.

My card base is Cajun Craze with a layer of black card stock.  The textured image is stamped with Crumb Cake onto white card stock.  The stems and buds were colored with SU markers: Garden Green and Cajun Craze.  All stamps are from Gina K: Petals and Wings.

Bee Happy

Today's card is for the challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges, which is to add black card stock to make the colors pop!  I think that happened here!  I used papers from Nikki Sivils "Willow Bee" collection. Aren't they fun and bright!?!   My bees are from the SU set "Bunch O' Bugs" and the sentiment is also SU from the "Picture This" set. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of the background paper and used a Stamp-a-ma-jig so the bee would end up on the colored cell.  I colored the large bees with Copics and used a black glitter pen for the eyes.  Several punches were used for this card.  Circles in 1 1/4" and 1 3/8".  Word Window and Modern Label punches were used for the sentiment.

Yarrow and Daisies

Isn't this image from McMahon Five Designs a beauty?  It's one of their new releases this week called Yarrow and Daisies.  You can see the other releases in the What's New section - check it out!

Now I didn't do too much to this gorgeous image, as it's pretty enough to stand on it's own.  Some Stickles was added to the daisy centers and the embellishments were kept to a minimum.  The upper corner has a swirl clip with a bit of ribbon tied on and the lower corner has a flower from the Prima Melisse Nature Garden collection.  I streaked it with some black Stickles to coordinate with the image.

The base of this card is Crumb Cake with a layer of patterned paper from Lilybeedesign, the Victoria Park collection.  right behind the layered image panel there is a piece of oatmeal colored vellum.  The image is layered onto black card stock and then popped up with dimensionals.

I had fun making this card with the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.  I used "Flirtatious Specialty" papers from SU and some "Bling It" from Basic Grey.  Two punches from SU  were used.  The scallop border punch with Barely Banana card stock, and the scalloped circle punch with white card stock.  Baker's Twine was wrapped and tied around the side panel.
