Bullfrogs and Butterflies

Today I have a bright and perky card to share with you using a sweet image from Designed 2 Delight.  This one is called "Bullfrogs and Butterflies".  I used Copics to color the image and a cloud template with Bashful Blue ink for the sky.  The card base is Brilliant Blue and the layer behind the image is Poppy Parade.  Two strips of Washi Tape makes up the background.  Baker's Twine was wrapped around the card front and tied into a bow.

Ladybugs

This card just makes me smile!  As it should, since the image came from Designed 2 Delight!  The image is appropriately called: Ladybugs.  I colored the scene with Copics and sponged in the clouds using Bashful Blue ink and a template.  The image was layered onto black card stock, as was the entire front panel.  I used Washi Tape for the three stripes at the bottom of the card.  Baker's Twine was woven through a button and wrapped around the left side of the card.  The card base is white.

Say It With Flowers

Our challenge at Shopping Our Stash for this last Tuesday in May is flowers!   Anything floral related- flowers, floral, roses, sunflowers, gardens, vases, potted flowers, you get the idea.  Hope you will join us this week!

My card is based on one I've seen on Pinterest.  I've hoarded these bright plastic flowers for a long time.  Probably a clearance purchase.  Over time, I would pull them out, look at them lovingly, and then gently put them back on the shelf.  But this time I was determined to use them...lots of them!   I also dug deep into the brad stash for these large and larger glitter brads in black and silver.

Difficult to see in the photo, but layered onto the white card base, there is a layer of brushed silver metallic card stock, similar in color to the silver brads.

The sentiment is from SU's "All Holidays set, stamped first, then run through the Big Shot with the Swiss dots embossing folder.  The front black frame was also embossed wit the same folder and then an oval cut out for the center opening using a Spellbinders die.  This black panel was popped up with dimensionals.

A Sunny Hello!

This is the photo for the next challenge at {PIN}spirational Challenges.  Doesn't it look refreshing?!

Here is my card for this week's challenge.  I used a favorite summer image from a SU set called:  "Simply Summer".  I started with a white card base and added a layer of So Saffron.  Next up is a layer of patterned paper from the SU "Georgia Peach" collection.

The sentiment and sun were stamped onto white and punched out with circle punches and layered onto larger So Saffron circles.  The sun has streaks of Stickles along the rays.  The main image was colored with Copics and then the glass and pitcher were flooded with Crystal Effects.  The lemon slices were dabbed with Stickles.  This image piece was layered with Regal Rose.

The border stamp from the set was stamped twice onto a strip of white card stock and colored with Copics.  Some of the flowers have Stickles centers.  A strip of Regal Rose is used for the layer behind these posies.

Remember: When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!

Dynamic Duos Monochromatic Color Challenge

This week is all about a Monochromatic color theme at Dynamic Duos!

My card this week begins with a neutral base in Crumb Cake.  Next I have a Top Note die cut in white with the lower portion layered with Bashful Blue and Marina Mist card stock.  These colors were embossed with the SU Square Lattice embossing folder.  An EK Success border punch was used with Crumb Cake card stock and then embellished with blue pearls.

I stamped the butterfly from SU's "Reason To Smile" directly onto the Top Note piece and then again onto vellum with Marina Mist ink.  The butterfly's body was made with a paper "bead" from some Crumb Cake patterned paper.  Linen thread was tucked into the top end of the bead for the antennae.

The sentiment is from SU's "Small Script" set and was stamped with Marina Mist onto white and then punched out and layered with a Crumb Cake scalloped oval.

We're excited to see what all of you come with this week!  Hope you'll join us!

Release Day at M5D!

It's Release Day at McMahon Five Designs!  I have a couple of cards to show you using two of the new digi images released today.

The card above uses a vintage image called: "Family Time"  I used it on my card like a  photo in an album complete with a black mat and photo corners.  The sentiment is from SU from the set "Happy Harmony".  The border at the bottom of the card was made using one of the shapes for the punch border system from Creative Memories, a bitty flower punch from SU and some black rhinestones.

The card base is Crumb Cake with a layer of black card stock.  The patterned paper is from Lilybee Designs in the "Victoria Park" collection.

There are two views for my next card.  Details follow:

For my second card I used the kite image from the newly released "Patched Up Accessories" set, which is a FREEBIE!.  I decided to make a waterfall card for this one.  You can find directions for making this card on Splitcoaststampers in the resources section here.  I colored the images in different color combos with Copics, matching colors from the patterned paper from the same collection as the card above:  Lilybee Designs: "Victoria Park" collection.  A cloud template was used on each square sponged with Bashful Blue ink.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches: "Word Salad". Card stock colors used were:  Taken With Teal, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Green Galore, and white.  Several strands of Baker's twine looped through an eyelet provides the pull to unleash the "waterfall".

To Have and To Hold

The challenge theme at Creative Belli this time is Wedding cards!

Remember the spirit of the Belli challenges is to encourage you to use your OLD and FORGOTTEN embellishments!  Tell us what you've used in your description.

This card has a white base and then layers of Almost Amethyst (a long ago retired color from SU!) and some Specialty Bride Paper (also long retired) from SU as well.  You can see the shimmer of the subtle design reflected in the photo.  In keeping with using old and forgotten stash, the stamped image is from the SU set called "Figures of Speech"  I stamped this onto a vellum metal edge tag using StazOn.  The charm is from Martha Stewart and was a purchase from the clearance section at a local discount store many years ago.

Please join us in our challenge!

A New {PIN}spirational Challenge and a DT Call!

This is my second post today.  To see the BINGO Challenge, click here: Shopping Our Stash,  and to see my challenge card for today click here!

On to my next post for today!  Below is the photo for our next challenge at {PIN}spirational Challenges!

Here is the card I came up with:

I've had this black glossy stripe patterned paper in my stash for along time and was excited to be able to use it for this challenge!  I began with a gate fold card base in black and added a white Top Note die cut to the inside of the card.  On the outside I added two panels of the striped patterned paper. On the left panel I wrapped black stitched ribbon around and through a pewter Hodgepodge Hardware (SU) buckle.

The sentiment is from Word Play (SU) and was cut and layered using a Labels Eight die from Spellbinders.  This piece is attached to the top portion of the right panel only so the card will open!

Well now it's your turn to show us your creation by linking up to our challenge blog! Deanne is having a DT call too!  We'd love to have you join us, so check the challenge blog for more information!

Summer Afternoon #3

This is the third card in my "Summer Afternoon" series, a new stamp set from SU.   (You can see my first card here and my second card here.)  just like the other two cards, I left the image uncolored.  I stamped onto ivory card stock using Memento Cocoa Brown ink and cut with a spellbinders circle die.  The circle layer is Early Espresso.  An ivory layer is behind patterned paper from the SU "Sweet Pea" collection.  The card base is Crumb Cake.  The flower spray consists of a layered felt flower with a button center and then several punched leaves and branches from the SU Bird Builder pinch and a MS punch.  Colors used were Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and ivory.

Summer Afternoon #2

This is my second card using a new SU set called "Summer Afternoon".  (My first card can be seen here.)   For this card I used Memento Tuxedo black ink and stamped the image onto white card stock.  Nestibilities dies were used to cut the plain and scalloped circles.  I left the image uncolored, but added Flower Soft for the grass and basket of flowers.  The card base is Sahara Sand and the patterned paper is from the SU "Sweet Pea" collection.  Pacific Point card stock was used for the backing layers.  The sentiment was stamped on Pacific Point card stock and cut with a ribbon die from Spellbinders.  Both the image and sentiment are popped up with dimensionals.

Dynamic Duos: Daffodil Delight and Basic Black

Week three is called "Black Tie" where we use one color plus black and we also have a "Dessert" option.  This week's dessert option is DRY EMBOSSING. You are welcome to add it or not! The "Dynamo" Design Team has created some wonderful projects to inspire you, so be sure to check out their blogs.  Links can be found at the end of this post.

Here is my DD card for Week #3:

My card has a white base with a Daffodil Delight layer.  Next up is a layer in black that was embossed with the Script Texture embossing folder.  The image is a Hero Arts image of a long-stemmed wildflower.  i stamped this in black and then layered the image panel with more Daffodil delight.  Black stitched ribbon was tied around the lower part of the image panel.  Off to the left of the image are three large size brads: two have a patterned image and the middle one is a large black rhinestone brad.

Here are the links to the Design Team members blogs.  Check them out and leave them a comment.  It will be appreciated!

All Patched Up

It's release day at McMahon Five Designs today!  I chose this cute image to work with this week as I love to paper piece!  Scraps of patterned papers in green were used for the caterpillar's body, some parts were popped up with dimensionals.  The feet were colred with a marker and then a tiny drop of Crystal Effects was added for dimension and a slight shine.  A light Copic color added some shading below the feet.  The antennae are embellished with black rhinestones.

The letters in "HAPPY" were also paper pieced using the pattern on the reverse side of some of the scraps.

Below you will see the entire collection of images released today!  Thanks for looking!

Summer Afternoon #1

This is the first of three cards that I'll be sharing with you in the next few days using a new SU set called "Summer Afternoon".  I stamped this image on ivory card stock with Memento Coca Brown and cut it out with a Spellbinders labels die.  I sponged the edges with Crumb Cake, but otherwise left the image uncolored.  Early Espresso die cuts are layered behind the image.  The patterned papers are from the SU "Sweet Pea" collection and are layered onto Tangerine Tango.  Some brown stitched ribbon was tied on across the top.  The stitches were white and seemed too bright, so I sponged some Crumb Cake onto the ribbon stitching to tone it down.  The top fold card base is Crumb Cake.

Twisted Dessert

Tuesdays are busy stamping days for me.  I'm on two design teams that post on Tuesdays (scroll down to see posts for Shopping Our Stash and {PIN}spirations) and also many of my favorite challenges are on Tuesdays.  I don't get to all of them, but I do what I can!

This card is for the color challenge at Splitcoaststampers:  Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, and Pumpkin Pie, with dessert of making a Father's Day card.   The challenge at Twisted Tuesdays is to make a chain of some sort and the twist is to make the card long or tall.  So I used the colors and dessert from SCS and made a chevron chain with the twist being a long card for TT.

Monochromatic In Neutral

This is my second post for today.  To see the Shopping Our Stash BINGO challenge, keep scrolling down.  Thank you!

We're using this photo for the next {PIN}spirational Challenge this week!  I love the monochromatic color combo, as well as, all the textures going on here.

Here is my card:

As you can see, I went with a similar color palette.  I embossed the lower front panel of the card with a Stripes embossing folder.  A chevron punch was used for the border in the middle of the card.  I stamped Baroque Motifs in Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla card stock oval.   Added a scalloped layer from Early Espresso card stock behind the image.  Three buttons, each tied with linen thread, embellish the stamped flourish.

Now it's your turn!  We love to see your creativity, so please link your card up to the challenge blog when you are done!
