DD #26 Monochromatic Combo

I love the combo of colors we were given to work with this week!  I pulled out some More Mustard DSP from the "Autumn Traditions" collection (SU) for the main layer on this card.  I used a Spellbinders Labels die to cut a portion off the right edge.  So Saffron ink was used to stamp the image from "Autumn Days" onto a Very Vanilla panel that was cut just slightly larger than the DSP.  A scrap of VV was punched with the key tag punch (SU) and then again with a corner punch (MS).  The edges on all layers and pieces were sponged with Crumb Cake ink.

The DSP layer was popped up with foam tape onto the Very Vanilla layer and then some natural twine was wrapped around and tied into a bow.  This entire piece was then adhered to a Crumb Cake base.

This is my last post as a member of the Dynamic Duos DT.  What a joy it has been to be a part of this exciting adventure!  It was an honor to be creating along side the awesome, creative, and talented members.   My sincere thanks to Lesley for the opportunity to be a "dynamo"!

M5D "Scarecrow"

Scarecrow JPG and PNG

This scarecrow image from McMahon Five Designs sure was fun to work with.  I pulled some patterned papers from Simple Stories: Harvest Lane collection and then  used similar Copic colors for the image.  When I was done coloring I fussy cut the image and the layering of papers, die cuts and embellishments began.  The card base is Crumb Cake, layered with two patterned papers.  Next is a wide strip of Magic Mesh, recently rescued from the bottom of a drawer.  On top of the mesh is a strip of Washi Tape.  On the right side of the card are three buttons tied with linen thread.  On the left side of the card the scarecrow image is mounted onto layered ovals cut with Spellbinders dies.  the oval is popped up with dimensionals and so are some parts of the image.

Copics used:
0, BG18, E07, E34, E35, E42, E44, G99, N9, R17, R20, Y23, YG95, YG97

D2D October Free Digital Stamp Challenge

At Designed2Delight there is a FREE Stamp of the Month Challenge.  You can read about all the details here.  Come join in the fun and see the amazing entries!  And remember, you will get next month's image sent to you free!  Here is my entry for the challenge:

Some interesting twists and turns occurred while making this card.  First of all I colored the image with Copics to specifically match some DSP I planned on using.  In fact, I mixed two different Copic colors on the snowman's jacket to get an exact match to some paper.  As you can see I nixed the idea of using patterned paper and went with a more CAS layout.  The second twist to the card came when I applied Stickles to the snowflakes.  When the Diamond clear Stickles dried it turned a coppery gold color - a weird, but fun interaction with the printer ink!  Lastly, this is the most simplistic card I have made in a very long time!  I'm usually piling it on, so yeah me for showing restraint!

Image: D2D: "Catching Flakes"
Paper:  Gina K layering weight and heavy weight white cs
Ink:  Copics:  BG10, BG18, BG34, BG93, R27, YR18, W00, W1
Misc:  Flower Soft, Stickles, Baker's Twine, corner rounder, dimensionals

Crows Three

Welcome to another challenge at {PIN}spirational Challenges!  Below is a wonderful fall photo to inspire you this week:

This week we are sponsored by :

For my card I used their fun image called: "3 Crows".  Check it out:

I used Crumb Cake for a card base.  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket - Matilda.  I gave each of the birds a rhinestone embellished witches hat from a Gina K stamps set called: "Wicked"and a black rhinestone eye.  Ribbon and glittered stickers adorn the fence border (MS punch).  More glittered ghosts float in the plaid sky.

Nuts About You

***This is my second post for today.  Scroll down to see my post for Holly Jolly.  But first enjoy my post for Shopping Our Stash!

Our challenge this week is:

Challenge #74: "Out of the Jar" : use anything that came in a jar- flower soft, glitter, perfect pearls, embossing powder, etc, OR a jar image - or make something using a Jar! (decorate a jar)

I was excited to use my new jar stamp and die from SU:

Actually I used old and older stash and some new and newer stash for my card.  The oldest item on this card is drywall tape.  Remember using that?  Well I dug my roll out and use another 5 inches on the stuff - many yards to go!  The newest items on my card are stamped images (jar and lid) and coordinating dies from SU:  "Perfectly Preserved" and "Cannery Set".  I also used a sentiment and acorn images new set from Taylored Expressions called: "Falling for You".

Why acorns?  I was recently "up north" and had so much fun watching the squirrels collect acorns and feeding unsalted peanuts in the shell to some sweet chipmunks.

So what's in your jar?

Bobblehead Santa

At Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges we are challenging you to make a card featuring Santa!  Our sponsor this week is an all time favorite - Bubaboo!  I'm using their digi called "Bobblehead Christmas -Santa".  Here's my card:

I colored two images with Copics:
YR00, E95, R20
N0, N8

I cut the head out on one of them and popped it up onto the other image with an action wobble spring.  Now my bobblehead image bobbles!  Oh, the fun I am having with my little Santa!

In this side view you can see the second image of the head.  You can also see that my card is actually a treat and gift card holder!  The little box attached inside holds a small candy bar (there is a wrapped peanut butter cup in there now).  The ivory card stock piece will hold a gift card in place when you slide it in behind the bordered edge.

When the ribbon is untied, the front part of the card folds down to reveal a sentiment, treat and gift card on the inside.  Ho! Ho! Ho!

I used "Angela", a digi from our sponsor this week:

She was colored with Copics in the following colors:  B34, E01, E09, E93, R20, RV11, Y21

The DSP is SU's retired "Bella Birds" collection.   The bordered edge is a Martha Stewart punch called Looped Hearts Edge Punch.  I used four of the small hearts from the punched out pieces in the four corners.

Trick or Treat

My second post for today is for Shopping Our Stash.  (scroll down to see my Christmas card for Holly Jolly!)  Challenge 73 at SOS this week is as follows:

Trick or Treat : anything Halloween or Spooky OR candy, dessert theme, food, beverages, etc.  Lots of options for you to choose from.

As you can see I went with a Halloween card.  Maybe more cute than spooky, but the spirit of Halloween is there.  The patterned papers are from Cosmo Cricket - Matilda.  The little witch is  an image from SU's "Googly Ghouls".  I colored some portions of the image with Copics and added orange, purple, and black Stickles here and there.  Oh, and let's not forget the wiggly eyes!  The sparkly black cat is a piece of chipboard confetti.  In the upper corner is an epoxy brad.  Across the middle of the card is a fence punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  below that is some ribbon.

Mittens For Christmas

It's time for another Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge!  Meighan has chosen a beautiful photo for your inspiration.  Check it out:

For my card I zeroed in on the knit mittens.

Two SU sets were used on my card.  A retired set called "Weather Or Not" provided the mitten border that I colored with SU markers and stamped on some wide twill ribbon.  The pair of mittens are from a current set called "Make a Mitten".  I colored directly onto the rubber stamp with the same colors and stamped on some naturals ivory card stock.  The two mittens are attached together with Baker's Twine.  The DSP is some older SU patterned paper called "Frosty Day".  The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp.

Soft as a Feather

It's soft colors for the duo combo this week at Dynamic Duos.  Check 'em out!

 Here's my card:

I used Pool Party ink and paper and Soft Suede ink and paper  with some feather stamps to create this card.  The main image was first stamped in Pool Party and then the edges were stamped with Soft Suede to give the two tone look.  The other stamped images are actually a single background stamp. I'll have to come back and edit this post as I don't recall the stamp company at this time.  Labels Ten dies were used to cut the various layers which were sponged using the duo colors.

Molly Trick or Treat

It's a flashback release at McMahon Five Designs today.  Check out the digis being featured this week.  My card was made using the following digi:

Molly Trick or Treat JPG and PNG

On a kraft card base I added a layer of white card stock and then some festive black and orange checked paper.  The adorable image was colored with Copics and I highlighted some areas with colored Stickles.  A Labels Ten die was used to cut out the image and I sponged the edges in black.  This was popped up with dimensionals over a black punched border.  Glittered pumpkin stickers were added to each side.  A small banner was placed in the upper corner and the teeniest ghost punches were added to the banners.

If you're stopping by to see the inspiration photo for {PIN}spirational Challenges, here it is:

 And here is my card:

I used an image called "Peeking" from our sponsor Folded Paper.  I colored the image with Copics and after doing some fussy cutting, tucked her behind some wood grain looking DSP from SU.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts and the speech bubble is a die cut.

Tic Tac Toe at Shopping Our Stash

This is my second post for today.  Scroll down to see the card I made for Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges.

Welcome to some fun and games at Shopping Our Stash!  We have a game of Tic Tac Toe to guide you in your card making this week.  Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see the game board.

For my card I chose the row with Kraft, Ribbon, Sentiment.  Here is my card:

My card begins with a kraft card base and then a layer of a reddish brown card stock.  On top of that is another layer of kraft which was embossed with a wood grain folder.  A manilla tag layered with more reddish brown is stamped with a sentiment from Gina K's "Sunkissed Autumn" set.  The felt leaf is quite the embellishment, it's about a quarter inch thick!  I sneakily added some ribbon onto the card with by making a tab at the end of the tag.  Tic Tac Toe - we have a winner!  Now it's your turn to play!  have fun!

Scrap Cards at Holly Jolly!

Welcome back for another challenge at Holly Jolly Christmas Challenges. Wow!  You outdid yourselves last week for the Glitter and Bling challenge!  Thank you so much for "puttin' on the  glitz" with us!  This week Cindy is challenging us to use our scraps for our cards.  I have tons of scraps and I'm sure many of you do as well. So let's reduce that pile and make some cards!  Without further ado, here is my card:

I based my top fold card on this one seen here.  I used a little bit larger sized scraps and of course made mine a Christmas card.  Except for the card base, the rest of the card is from scraps and stash.  The background DSP is SU's "Ski Slope".  The sentiment is from SU's "Holiday Collection", stamped and layered with Riding Hood Red ink and card stock.  The layered felt snowflakes are also SU, retired "Snow Flurries".  I dotted them with diamond Stickles and tied them together with some silver cord.  They are adhered to the card with glue dots.

Welcome back for another challenge at Dynamic Duos!  So fun to see the variety of color choices last week!  We have a great pair of colors for you this week.  Check them out!

And here is my card:

I CASEd a card that I saw in a blog post here.

Three patterns and one plain piece of DSP in Tangerine Tango was used.  On the third piece I mounted a square of white card stock sponged with TT ink and added three Old Olive buttons tied with natural twine.  A punched border below the squares was also tied with natural twine.  The sentiment (Paper Smooches) flag was popped up with dimensionals and embellished with an OO brad.
