Altered Mini Composition Notebooks

For a swap on Art and Sassy we were to alter two mini composition notebooks. One was to have a Christmas theme and the other was our choice.  Here are my notebooks:

The patterned papers and stickers on the Christmas notebook are from Bazzill, a Christmas collection.  For the other notebook I used papers and coordinating embellishments from My Minds Eye, The Sweetest Thing collection.

Altered Spools With Stickpins

For a swap on Art and Sassy I altered two wooden spools and made stickpins to coordinate.

I painted the spools with a translucent pearlescent medium for a subtle shimmer.  Each spool was wrapped with crocheted or lace trim and ribbon.  They were both embellished with paper roses. I added some Distress Stickles to the roses.  The top of the left spool has more crocheted trim and the right spool has pleated ribbon on the top.  I stuffed the centers of the spools with some foam so the stickpins would have something to grab onto.

Altered Wine Corks

Here are three altered wine corks I made for a swap on Art and Sassy.  We were to make each of them depicting a season.  I did one for winter, spring, and fall.

ATC Christmas Gift Tags

I love making my own holiday gift tags, so I joined a swap on Splitcoaststampers to make ATC size gift tags to get some new ideas.

It will be no surprise to my family that I used gingerbread men on my tags, as I do so every year!

Thanks for looking!

SOS: Old Ribbon

This is my second post today. To see my card for Holly Jolly, please scroll down.

This post is for the challenge at Shopping Our Stash.  We were to use our oldest ribbon.   Here is the front of my card, which was made by folding a square envelope in half.  The image was colored with colored pencils and blended with Goo Gone.  I added a wood ladybug embellishment and also Distressed Stickles.  Don't see any ribbon?  Keep scrolling!

This is the inside of the card. At the bottom is my ribbon used as a pocket to hold a gift card or two!  I purchased this ribbon to go with the stamp which has a date of 2000 on it.  On the left in the upper pocket, created by the folded envelope with the flap tucked inside, is a bookmark.  Over on the right is another pocket at the top created when that half of the flap was removed.  Then the two pockets near the bottom of the card created by the ribbon.

Holly Jolly: Christmas Song

This week at Holly Jolly the challenge is to create a card inspired by a Christmas song.  I think you'll be able to guess which song I was inspired by with my card.  Here is the front:

and here is the inside:

The pop-up card was created using some card parts from a card kit I purchased at a stamp store.  I loved the reindeer patterned paper and matching sticker.

ATC Calendar Swap

I've been working on my ATC size calendar pages for a swap on Splitcoaststampers and I'm finally finished!  I did a swap like this one last year and I love looking at the artful calendar on my stamping table.  It's so much fun to see a new handmade work of art each month.  This year I signed up for a spot in three different groups, so will receive three calendars from the completed swap!  I'm keeping one in my stamp room for sure, but haven't decided yet what I'll do with the other two.   As you can see my calendars are for the months: September, October, and November.  We needed to keep the top half-inch free of embellishments so that they can be hole-punched and put on binding rings.  We also needed to use an inchie on the ATC.  Inchies are new to me, so I hope I did them correctly!

Cards from Card Kits

I'm in a really fun swap on Splitcoaststampers where we send themed card kits to our group members.  There are four in a group, so we send three kits out.  Each kit contains enough images, papers, embellishments etc. to make four cards. We keep one card for ourselves and send the other three to the members of our group.  That way each of us can see what the others did with the kits.

Here are the cards I made from the Thanksgiving kits I received.  Showing the fronts and insides.

I made three of the cards above and below.

And then I made three different versions from the last card kit.

I hope the members of my group like what I did with their kits.
