Memory Dex Card Swaps

I made two sets of Memory Dex cards for two different swaps on a Facebook group.  The theme for the first set was "warmth".  I had ugly sweaters and hot chocolate on my mind when I made these!

This second set had a theme of butterflies.  The black card uses metal butterfly charms and it weighs a ton!

If you haven't tried making Memory Dex cards, give it a go!  They are fun to make and can be displayed in a desktop Rolodex holder.  It's fun to flip through all the cards for inspiration, as well as, a trip down memory lane!

More Winter Bears

I wanted to share2 more winter bear cards with you.  I was able to use all of the images in this polar bear stamp set for the challenges over at The Outlawz last week.  Now I have five cute cards to package up for a gift!

Nothing else to add, just wanted to share these last two cards!

Crazy Cats Valentines

I needed some quick and easy Valentines for a cat card swap group.  So I dug out the Tim Holtz Crazy Cat stamps and dies, some "wild" patterned paper and a fun card front die.  making the cards was easy.  Getting the envelopes addressed and sent on time is the hard part...at east for me!  Check them out!

Winter Bears

I received a really cute winter stamp set from a very dear friend for Christmas.  The stamp package didn't reveal the name of the set or the company, but it is a series of bears (polar or whatever you want them to be!) and lots of great sentiments.  So I decided to use this stamp set to make cards for The Outlawz challenges this week.   So far I used them for Sunday thru Tuesday challenges and here they are!

This card is for CAS Sunday.  We were to use something new, so my new stamp set!  I used Tumbled Glass distress ink and a stencil to make the background.

Monday is Greetings, so you need to add a greeting on the front of your card.  The theme was After Christmas.  I interpreted that as missing the friends and family that you spent time with for the holidays.

Tuesday is Color.  The color combination we were given to work with was three shades of brown, white and gray.  We had to use at least three of the colors, but could choose to use all five.  Since the patterned paper had four of the colors, I decided to color the scarf in shades of gray to get all five on this card!

Vintage Valentine Pocket Letter

I love making (and receiving!) pocket letters, but haven't made one in quite awhile.  I was excited to join a Valentine Pocket letter swap on the Facebook group Koala T Crafts.  There are some holidays that I just love using vintage images and Valentine's Day is one of them.  So I pulled out some domino sized images and other bits and pieces of paper lace, stickers and miscellaneous embellishments.  The hours flew by as I made each individual card to fit into the pockets.  Once I got going, I did not want to stop creating!  And here is the finished result.  I'm having a hard time giving this one up!

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo.  It was a combination of an overcast day and also the glare from the plastic pockets.   But hopefully you get enough details of what each of the cards look like.  I'm not showing the back side, which is filled with crafty goodies for my swap partner.  It's already packaged up, but next time I will take a photo of the cards outside of the pockets.  (Sure, I think of that great idea now!)

Card Sketch at Koala T Crafts

The card I made to share today is from a card sketch over at the Facebook group Koala T Crafts.

Here is the sketch:

and here is my card:

Pretty simple and straightforward.  I'm trying to use more of my forgotten embellishments, so pulled out those pearl sprays to tuck into the paper flowers.  The patterned paper I used is from Hobby Lobby called Pink and Navy.  I've had it for several years, so have now decided to keep it on my stamping table to remind myself to use it now and then!

Speaking of using up a paper pad, I'm doing a fun challenge with a special You Tube friend, where we are going to use up an entire 6x6 paper pad by the end of the month.  I'll share on here all of the cards I've been making on the last day of the month.  (Hopefully something you will look forward to seeing!)

ATCs 3+1

Today I am sharing with you four ATCs (Artist Trading Cards).  They are for 2 different swaps; one for a swap in a Yahoo Group and the other for a swap in a Facebook group.  All of them were made with bits and pieces in my stash.  Here is the pic:

The two ATCs on the top are for the swap on Facebook. We were to make one representing January and one representing February.  So snow and hearts!  The Let it Snow card was made using all kinds of snowflakes; a snow flurry if you will!

The bottom two were made for a swap on Yahoo.  All of the Valentine ATCs were made with a hodgepodge of ephemera and embellishments, including washi tape, paper lace, rhinestones, wood hearts, and stickers.  I think they turned out cute and I know my partners will love them!  (I see the card on left doesn't show the glossy image clearly.  It is a cupid using ink and pen to write letter to their Valentine.  The image is from an older Tim Holtz holiday paper pad.  Sorry about that!)

I have two Valentine themed pocket letters to work on next and will post when I have them completed.  Do you make pocket letters?  I enjoy putting them together and filling the back side with goodies.  One of my pocket letters requires only three pockets!  I  love making the mini ones!  Stay tuned!

Challenge Cards

It's been a long time since I made any cards for the challenges at The Outlawz.  (or posted on my blog!, No guarantees, but I hope to post a little more often to this blog in 2018)

I've missed doing the challenges but was busy with collabs and challenges on You Tube, plus went through a period of missing mojo.  But with the new year I thought this was a good time to revisit and support one of my favorite sites.

So here are the cards I've made so far for this first week in January.

This card is for Sunday, December 31st.  Sundays are always CAS (clean and simple).  There was an added twist to add some sparkle to your card.  I used a very old SU stamp (1993), a foam stamp.  Anyone remember when SU offered those?  Ha!  I used a die from Simon Says Stamp.  It is a series of stars that I kept together as one die rather than cutting them apart.  I placed some silver glitter paper behind the front white die cut panel.

This second card is for Tuesday, January 2nd. Tuesdays are Color days and we were to use teal, plus two other colors from a photo prompt.  I chose black and coral.  Now, I do have to say that this card was CASEd from a card I saw on a Paper Pumpkin (SU Kit) Facebook page where demos and customers share alternate card ideas using the kits.  The coral die cut portion was from the Dec card kit for 2017.  The white "dots" are from a gel pen.  We had to add our own twist, so I could say banners or enamel dots were my twist.

This is my favorite card so far this week.  This card was for Wednesday, January 3rd.  Wednesdays are sketch days.  The sketch was for a square card, but I wanted to make an A2 sized card.  The snowflake is from SU. I just turned the gold snowflake over to reveal this off white color on the back side.  For the patterned paper I used some Trimcraft paper from my stash.  As I was about to put adhesive on the back side of the paper I decided I liked that pattern better so switched it up.  Do you ever do that?  The ribbon has slight variations in color and looks so nice with this patterned paper.

This last card that I'm sharing today is for Thursday, January 4th.  Thursdays are known as Twisted Thursday and you can make anything you want, but a twist is given.  Since I am mainly a card maker I stick to making cards. The twist was to make it into a shaker.  I pulled out one of my favorite snowman stamps and cut out his belly for the shaker area.  I filled his belly with a snowflake sequin and the some clear, white and blue seed beads.

That's it for today!  It was a fun-filled morning of card making!  Now I have quite the mess to clean up!
